Group Therapy

At Meghan Barlow and Associates, we pride ourselves in having the flexibility and creativity to meet our patients’ needs. We know that parents often have trouble finding a group that works for their child.  If this is the case with you and your child, please contact us – give us a call or e-mail and share a little about your child and what you’re looking for. We’ve been known to pair up a couple of kids looking for the same service or to create a group based on requests from families or professionals in the community.

Our group therapy options are designed to help children and teens to boost skills in dealing with issues such as behavior, anxiety, worry, ADHD, executive functioning challenges and more.

  • How to be a Warrior: (adolescents) Focuses on skills and strategies to manage anxiety
  • Mommy and Me: (ages 1-4) Features play time, songs, and stories and are designed to target a number of behavioral objectives.
  • Taming the Worry Monster: (ages 6-8) Teaches tools and skills to manage anxiety.
  • The Journey: (ages 9-11) Teaches children with ADHD skills to manage their attentional, organizational, and behavioral challenges.

Additional Group Therapy Options

In addition to the group therapy options listed above, our offices are pleased to offer Social Skills Groups that can help children build the skills they need to interact successfully with others and Therapeutic Play Groups, designed to help children who with struggle language skills to learn social play.

Social Skills Groups

We offer Social Skills Groups, serving children ages 2-13. These groups use a combination of empirically validated strategies for teaching social skills and Michelle Garcia Winner’s Social ThinkingTM curriculums. Groups are led by Christine Jurik, MA, BCBA, COBA, a licensed, Masters-level clinician. and are broken into the four age groups (click on each for course content):
