Strong emotions can overwhelm teens and lead to emotional, physical, and relational distress. Emotion regulation is the process by which we are aware of our emotions and manage our physical, behavioral, and relational responses. The Teen Emotion Regulation Clinic helps teens break the cycle of unhealthy coping strategies with opportunities to learn and develop:

  • Emotion awareness
  • Distress coping
  • Interpersonal skills
  • Emotional flexibility

Mindfulness, acceptance and commitment therapy, cognitive-behavioral therapy, and dialectical behavioral therapy are used to inform these therapies.
