These psychoeducational workshops will provide adolescents aged 13-18 (or in grades 8-12) with information, strategies, and tools to build their coping skills. Each workshop will focus on a specific topic including “Managing Stress and Anxiety,” “Coping with Sadness and Loneliness,” “What to do When You Don’t Feel Like Doing Anything,” “Dealing with Drama,” “Solving Problems,” and “Building Confidence, Being Yourself, and Taking Care of Yourself.” In these classes, participants will learn tips and techniques to cope and parents will be provided with information on how to help their adolescent practice and use the tools presented. These workshops do not take the place of individual or group therapy, rather they are offered for adolescents and families looking to learn and find support in addition to therapy. These workshops are a good option for adolescents and their families waiting to begin therapy.
Each class will be one hour from 5:00pm-6:00 pm. Participants will take home information and resources related to that workshop’s topic. There is space for up to 12 adolescents. Registration is for each workshop individually. The cost for each workshop is $30.
